Mt. McKinley
I started with a pastel sketch to ensure that I had the shapes, forms, composition, color and the shape of the reflection in place.
The final painting will be an 18" x 36" oil on stretched canvas. |

Half Dome Panorama
This is a view only to be seen if you were to hover many feet above North Dome in Yosemite Valley.
I used Google Earth, topo maps and about six photographs from various perspectives to compose this view.
This is the line drawing that will be transferred to the canvas via projector. It is another in my moonlight series.
The final painting will be a 30" x 15" oil on stretched canvas. |

Final painting: Currently untitled, oil on canvas, moonlight series

Spider Rock, Canyon de Chelly
Another in the moonlight series. Spider Rock is held sacred by the Navajo.
This line drawing will be transferred to a large canvas via projector.
A beautiful artist and writer named Everett Ruess inspired both this painting and the classic scene of Canyon de Chelly I titled "Everett's Muse."

Paradise
My studio with all my beloved tools. The white areas are blank canvas and have yet to be painted. The existing layers will be worked more.
This has been in the works for more than five years, and admiittedly has been on the back burner for most of that time. I have recently dusted it off, cleaned it up and vowed to finish it very soon! |
